Partnership

Sometimes it isn't about creating the image so much as capturing the moment.

See and read more after the jump!

Above is a quick shot that I happened to grab that I never expected to become one of my favourites so quickly. Considering I had just hoped to capture some candid photos I managed to capture what turned out to be the beginning of a very special relationship.

Last summer Tianna, who had been taking horseback lessons from a friend for quite some time began the a journey to find her horse. After looking through what seemed like hundreds of ads and pictures and attending several auctions, her boss brought to her attention an opportunity. A friend of his was looking to give away her horse to "a good home". Now, normally that would be something you'd be leery of. Who would just... give away their horse? Why would they not sell it? What could possibly be wrong with it? All questions that immediately went through our heads... But, Tianna would be remiss if she didn't at least entertain the option and see what all the fuss was about.

As it turned out- the current owner was rather nervous and wanted to give the horse away as it was too unruly, bucked, and she wasn't comfortable around him- let alone riding him. Tianna went and met the horse and admitted that he needed a lot of work, but felt something, so she decided to trial him for a month at her barn to see how he really was. As you probably guessed, that horse ended up being True and the image above was captured on True's first day at Tianna's barn. The two of them, barely acquainted, literally taking a jog over the hill.

I never imagined how much these two would grow and learn from each other and it's really been a very cool experience to see unfold (even though I give he a hard time). True is a completely different horse and Tianna a different rider.

No matter how bad a day she has it seems like spending some time with her big dog can fix anything!
