I was out fueling my photographic addiction earlier with week with my girlfriend T on a local trail trough the woods (somehow I end up doing a lot of my photography in the woods!). The above picture was taken in an area where there were a bunch of narrow and tall trees grouped together with very few branches. The vertical lines of the trees in conjunction with the horizontal shadows and snow drifts provided a very pleasing scene. I accentuated the simplicity of the image by converting to black and white in lightroom as well as bumping the contrast and blacks.
Keep it simple!
